10 billion dirham allocation to infrastructure in UAE

THE UAE HAS earmarked just about a third of its 2010 budget - 10.7 billion dirhams (US$2.9 billion) - to infrastructure projects, daily newspaper Gulf News reported recently.

"The infrastructure budget for the UAE is dedicated mainly to core infrastructure spending, particularly in the areas of road and transport and public utilities, including power and desalination as well as waste facilities and management.
