The luxury villa complex on Saadiyat Island will stretch along almost seven kilometres of waterfront. Al Jaber Building, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi-based Al Jaber Group, will build 462 villas on an area of about 1.5mn sq metres.

The construction will also include two community centres and the project is scheduled for completion in 2016.

The development of the Saadiyat Island was directed at adding luxury to Abu Dhabi living standards. The first villas on the island were handed over in 2011.

The island will also be home to the Saadiyat Cultural District, where a museum will be built. Luxury hotels, the Monte Carlo Beach Club and the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club will also be added to the island’s offerings.

SDIC chairman Hamad Rashed Al Nuaimi commented, “We are delighted to appoint Al Jaber Building to develop the Hidd Saadiyat Villas. Hidd Saadiyat Beach Front Villas is an exceptional development that uplifts living standards in the UAE. We have gone through a meticulous selection process of our partners and look forward to a successful relationship with the Al Jaber Group.”

Al Jaber Group chairman Obaid Khaleefa Jaber Al Murri said, “This project is set to be an important landmark development and the Al Jaber Group is committed to delivering the highest standards of quality and service. To be the key contractor on such an important project is a great privilege for Al Jaber Building.”
