Taj Arabia will be part of the Falconcity of Wonders (FCW) - a multi-purpose project being developed worth US$1bn.

The complex will also house seven Mughal architecture-themed buildings consisting of retail and residential elements.

The building will be four times the size of the original marble mausoleum and has been scheduled to be completed by 2014, according to the Dubai-based developers of the project.

"It was an ambitious target to complete the project by 2014," said Link Global director Arun Mehra. "The infrastructure is ready. We are in talks with leading construction companies."

The project, built over an area of 2.3mn sqf, will have acres of greenery including Mughal gardens and a 'falling garden' with a water cascade.

Falconcity will be a self-contained and multi-faceted residential, tourist and recreational project based on the wonders of the ancient and modern world and will include the Pyramids of Giza, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Eiffel Tower and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
