Metito eyes expansion plans

Buildmart open for business

BUILDMART, A US$20.4mn, retail complex in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), has been inaugurated by H. H. Sheikh Omar Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chief of Private Department of H. H. Sheikh Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of RAK. The retail complex has been set up to cater to a diverse target audience including interior designers, consultants and homeowners.

All of the products in the retail complex are installed in an actual home set-up, allowing customers a more convenient way to shop for building materials, fixtures and other household items. Buildmart offers more than 15,000 different products from construction, building materials and shop fitting specialist Danube Building Materials.

Located along Zaid Road in Ras Al Khaimah, Buildmart has been developed on a 13,935 sqm plot across the Cove Rotana Resort. The retail complex incorporates a 1,860 sqm showroom, a 3,715 sqm warehousing section and a huge open area for additional shops and parking. The store is divided into twenty different sections including kitchens, bathrooms, tiles, shower rooms, jacuzzis, flooring for both ceramic and wood, ceilings, doors, paints, decorative glass and wallpapers.

In addition to offering customers a wide range of building materials and design options that cater to every budget, Buildmart also provides customers expert advice from highly-trained professionals on the best products, design materials and other design-related inquiries through its design centre.

 

Business and Management

  • US$130mn Saudi Arabia power plant component order won

    Siemens Energy has secured a US$130mn order to supply gas turbine packages to Saudi Arabia. The components are to be installed in the Hail Extension II and Al Qurayat Expansion II power plants. The purchasers are the Alfanar Construction Company and Saudi Services for Electromechanic Works (SSEM) respectively and they will perform the project on a turnkey basis for the Saudi Electric Company (SEC) utility. Delivery of the components is scheduled for 2010 and 2011.
