Power sector in the Middle East has been growing strongly for past few years and has been attracting investment in generation, transmission and distribution of electricity.
There has been an increasing demand for power, power generation and power related industries. Underwriters Laboratories (UL) recognizes these expansions and provides certification services to assist manufacturers in gaining access to both domestic and global markets in Building Materials, Power & Controls and HVAC segments.
Close working relationships
UL has close working relationships with GCC Electrical & Fire Regulators provide local manufacturers and traders the most convenient and quick one stop solution in having a wide variety of Electrical Power Distribution & Fire safety products approved for supply to GCC Utilities, Infrastructure projects, O&G companies, Free Zones and Civil Defenses.
Primary objective at the show
Primary objective of UL's participation in Power and Distribution segment in trade show this year is to exhibit Produce Certification to both ANSI & IEC (International) standard requirements, namely UL Listing & UL Certification respectively. MEE candidature is to showcase the latest Certification service for LV Switchgear Panels & Assemblies to the recently released IEC 61439-1/2.
This service not only provides a TYPE Test Certificate but also ensures continued compliance through use of the UL Classification Mark (An ISO Guide 65 Type 5 Certification with testing to IEC standards in ISO 17025 accredited Laboratories under strict witness by qualified engineers).
At this event location UL team urges the visitors and exhibitors to attend the two lecturers delivered by UL's Primary Engineer for MV Systems - Mr. Paul Barnhart, on International IEC Standards for Medium Voltage Equipment, Installation & Personnel Safety on the 7th Feb. first day of the event and UL's Primary Engineer for PV Systems Mr. Dirk Mueller, on IEC 61439 LV switchgear or Controlgear Assemblies Certification by UL (Underwriters Laboratories) on the 8th Feb. second day at the Lecture hall.
200 GCC based manufacturers
At the event there are over 200 GCC based Electrical & Electronics manufacturers and a large number of exhibitors such as like Siemens, ABB, Alfanar, Powerbar etc. having products certified to International approvals for North America & Europe facilitated by UL and also to the local specifications of GCC regulators.
IEC standard 60439-2
Having specified the above fact UL is proud to announce and reward its association with Powerbar Gulf LLC to obtain an UL Classification Mark in accordance with IEC standard 60439-2 for Bus Trunking systems for ADDC & Aramco requirements.
