The seventh edition of the GAIA Awards were held on Day 2 of The Big 5 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, where companies were awarded for innovating and cutting-edge technologies on sustainable design and construction
The awards were held as part of the Sustainable Design and Construction Conference, attended mainly by industry leaders and companies leading the way with best sustainable practices. There were over 200 entries for the various categories, out of which 57 companies were shortlisted.
The awards panel for 2014 comprised Mario Seneviratne, MD of Green Technologies; Ali A Buruhaima, deputy director general of Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority; and Alaa Ashwamy, professor of civil engineering and dean of engineering at American University in Dubai (AUD).
