At the recently concluded Middle East Electricity (MEE) 2017 that was held from 14-16 February, Germany-headquartered KoCos displayed it varied range of measuring and test systems for equipment and electricity supply systems for utilities sector
Representing KoCoS at the event, Lea Sophie Kotthoff from sales and applications department and Christian Studen, product manager, circuit breaker testing, spoke about the newly launched switchgear test system ACTAS and the company’s target markets in the Middle East region.
ACTAS P 260 and ACTAS P 360 are two completely new, portable systems with an integrated carrying case for comprehensive tests on medium-, high- and extra-high-voltage switchgear.
Apart from ACTAS, KoCoS also displayed its specialised produces namely ARTES and SHERLOG. ARTES is a compact, powerful relay test system for carrying out highly complex tests while the latter is a fault recorder systems with a power quality analyser for comprehensively monitoring and assessing low, medium and high voltage networks in power plants and transformer substations.
Kotthoff said, “EPPE, METES and EPOS are other varieties of testing systems that we have brought to the fore in Dubai. With our subsidiary in Bahrain, we are now looking at attracting more business in the region. Our ACTAS range is in focus here and it’s a very smart and easy-to-handle device. ACTAS P 260 especially has worked very well in Germany and we are looking to get the same response in the Middle East.”
KoCoS is also looking to push it highly-acclaimed SHERLOG in the region as it believes that the UAE is pushing for the growth of such devices in utilities.
Speaking about partnerships in the region, Christian said that SHERLOG has been pre-qualified by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). So the company feels that ACTAS needs a boost in the UAE.
KoCoS has facilities in Bahrain and representatives in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
