Metito eyes expansion plans

Avaya appoints new general manager

GLOBAL SUPPLIER OF business communications applications, systems and services, Avaya, has announced the appointment of Fadi Hani as general manager for Saudi Arabia. Hani will be responsible for the daily management and reporting on all areas of Avaya’s activities in the kingdom.

Hani will execute Avaya’s business development strategies, drive sales and marketing activities and build and maintain relationships with channel partners to enable the successful delivery of the company's Intelligent Communications. “This is a crucial time for organisations in the Middle East to evaluate their current investments,” said Hani.

"Our priority in the coming months is to understand our customers’ current business in order to implement cost-efficient and effective communication solutions with a clear ROI. Our vision is for Avaya to become the number one provider of enterprise communications systems for organisations of all sizes in the kingdom, enabling them to add value to their services and enhance business performance.” Nidal Abou-Ltaif, area-VP, emerging markets for Avaya said, “Fadi Hani has been an exceptional member of the Avaya team, significantly contributing to the company’s regional growth. His wealth of experience and expertise in technology and business development makes him perfectly suited to enhance Avaya’s presence in Saudi Arabia."

A computer science graduate from the Lebanese American University, Hani has over 13 years of experience in the Middle East region in software development, business applications and underlying technologies. Hani was previously sales director in MENA for Avaya’s contact centre business.

  • US$130mn Saudi Arabia power plant component order won

    Siemens Energy has secured a US$130mn order to supply gas turbine packages to Saudi Arabia. The components are to be installed in the Hail Extension II and Al Qurayat Expansion II power plants. The purchasers are the Alfanar Construction Company and Saudi Services for Electromechanic Works (SSEM) respectively and they will perform the project on a turnkey basis for the Saudi Electric Company (SEC) utility. Delivery of the components is scheduled for 2010 and 2011.
