MAN Truck & Bus to supply 127 buses to Bahrain

This order will support the country’s transport network from 2015, especially within the city and for airport transfers, revealed officials from MAN Truck & Bus.

The company has already begun producing 88 Midi buses and 39 city buses, with MAN Lion’s City design. The chassis will carry Caetano bodies. The buses are made of aluminium, making them lightweight, fuel and energy efficient, and emit lesser levels of carbon.

Pedro Teixeira, area bus sales manager for MAN Middle East, said, “The MAN Lion’s City buses, which will be utilised in Bahrain, will use lightweight materials and innovative body construction to ensure high standards in quality. Functionality, ergonomics, large interior space, simple maintenance and high safety standards are the key features of the buses.”

AMA Motors, which is MAN Truck & Bus’ distributor in Bahrain and partner in the newly formed JV company Bahrain Public Transport Company, will support the company by supplying the training facilities, parts operation and local knowledge to ensure that the bus operation is maintained with the highest standards in quality and safety.The company will also execute the maintenance of vehicles as a service partner, stated an official from AMA Motors.
