Saudi Railway Company and Huawei to build smart rail network

Saudi Railway Company (SAR) has selected Huawei, global information and communications technology (ICT) provider, as a partner to develop smart railway and digital transformation

As reported in the TradeArabia, SAR and Huawei aim to jointly design and innovate in the areas of smart railway, which include the application of next generation railway wireless network, internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), cloud services and 5G across SAR?s railway network.  

In addition, the collaboration will involve training and knowledge transfer to implement ICT solutions in railway network, aimed at enabling SAR to provide a high-quality railway service across Saudi Arabia, the source added.

In line with this, Huawei organised ICT Roadshow at SAR?s headquarters where the company displayed cutting-edge technologies that are leading the era of digital transformation.

Quoting Dennis Zhang, CEO of Huawei Tech Investment, the source added that the smart railway system will be designed specifically to the needs of the kingdom.
