Cable provider Ducab has expanded its product range with DuPan wires, which are meant for switches, control, metering, relay and instrumentation panels of power switchgear
The new range of wires adhere to the local standards defined by the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology, and to the global standards set by BASEC. The wires come in a range of colours and capacities as well, stated Ducab officials.
The company’s chief commercial officer Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al Mutawa said, “Ducab has been at the forefront of the cabling industry across the globe, with our products directly benefiting millions of people in the region. With the DuPan range, we are using our expertise and experience in large-scale projects to the advantage of the individual user.”
The DuPan range of panel wires have been made as per BS 6231 Type CK. The cables are intended for use with AC voltage up to 600 volt or DC voltage up to 1,000 volt. They are also suitable for internal connections in rectifier equipment and its motor starters as well as controllers.
Ducab cables are also renowned for being flame-resistant and flame-retardant, and the DuPan range is also developed based on the same standard. They are suitable for operating continuously at 90°C, with a 105°C variant available on special request. The range is typically available with class-5 flexible copper conductor, but a tinned conductor is available on request, said the company.
