Abu Dhabi is considering a proposal to use solar energy equipment on rooftops in the city to generate about 500MW of power, according to the executive director at the citys Executive Affairs Authority, David Scott.
The UAE?capital also aims to generate 1,500MW of electricity, or seven per cent of total demand, from renewable energy sources by 2020, Scott said in a recent interview with Emirates Business 24-7. The rooftops of major warehouses could be used, he said.
