Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has awarded a contract worth US$17.7mn for a project aimed at increasing the reliability of the water networks across Dubai
With an expected completion date of June 2016, the project involves the supply, installation, and commissioning of surge protection devices for DEWA pumping stations in areas including Jebel Ali, Mushrif, and Hatta.
DEWA managing director and CEO HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer said, “The project assures the provision of uninterrupted water supply to support the current and future development needs of Dubai.”
According to the utilities authority, this plan is one of the various development projects to raise the efficiency and operational capacity of its water supply networks.
“DEWA seeks to increase the productivity, operational efficiency and reliability of its water supply networks in all parts of Dubai as part of its efforts to advance sustainable development,” explained Al Tayer.
