Unique completes water treatment project in Oman

Unique Tile Services, a joint venture between Tile Marine and Unique System, has completed the training phase of a sludge & slops project in Oman

The project is Unique’s first turnkey project for the Oman Government with the facility located in Duqm Dry Docks, the country’s first ship repair facility.

General manager at Unique System, Ian Huggins, commented: “The logistics of designing and constructing this remote project presented constant challenges for the engineers and managers based in the UK, Norway, Gibraltar, UAE and Muscat.”

Using waste treatment plants designed by Nature Environmental Solutions Limited, the facility uses the latest in environmental technology to biologically process oily tank washings taken from tankers undergoing maintenance at the dockyard complex.

The facility can receive up to 10,000 cubic metres of slops and has already begun receiving consignments of slops cargo.
