Technical Supplies & Services Company (TSSC), one of the leading manufacturers of advanced building materials and systems in the UAE, has invested in the automated production of cold rolled steel (CRS) in the regional market

The company, a primary member of Harwal Group, said that the CRS production is a part of its pre-engineered buildings (PEB) offerings in the UAE market.

According to TSSC, the move aims to address the growing demand for quality and cost-effective construction that is accelerating the growth in PEB system in the Middle East amid booming infrastructure development.

Arcangelo DellaPenna, CEO of TSSC, said that TSSC?s cold roll forming machine is expected to minimise human errors, thus eliminating the need for onsite welding and saving on labour cost.

In addition, TSSC?s advanced building system aims to provide developers and builders with the efficiency to source building materials supplies and services under a single platform, to fast-track their construction process.

Orhan Sevket Avar, projects manager at TSSC, noted, ?Making CRS locally-produced in the region is a significant step towards enhancing the quality of building materials in the region. It also contributes to lowering the cost of construction and further advancing the growth of pre-engineering building systems in the region.?

CRS? frame structures are seen to provide flexibility in the design depending on the required applications. According to the company, use of the software is further set to ensure that the steel quality passes structural integrity standard.

Cold rolled steel

In the Gulf region, TSSC produces up to 100 tonnes of CRS profiles per day. CRS has been recognised as an innovative building material that is 30 per cent lighter than hot rolled steels and 20 per cent lighter than built-up structures. It is seen as a cost-effective choice for industrial buildings such as warehouses, labour camps, workshops, factories and showrooms.

CRS is also suitable in the construction of transport facilities including aircraft hangars, metro stations and bridges.
