Etisalat and Alcatel-Lucent sign cooperation deal at MWC

UAE-based telecommunications company Etisalat has signed a cooperation agreement with network and broadband company Alcatel-Lucent at Mobile World Congress (MWC)

The deal will see the firms collaborate in the development and application of networking technologies, as well as designing, building and running customer care operations to enhance mobile broadband accessibility.

Under the agreement, Alcatel-Lucent committed to provide key IP and ultra-broadband access technologies, in addition to customer experience solutions.

Etisalat?s senior mobile network vice president, Saeed Zarouni, said, ?We have successful partnered with leading global technology providers to help shape the high quality of service that we extend to our customers.

?We look forward to strengthening our long-standing relationship with Alcatel-Lucent and, ultimately, giving our customers an unmatched experience.?

The signing ceremony at the MWC was attended by senior executive from both firms, including Saleh Al-Abdooli, CEO of Etisalat UAE, and Amr K. El-Leithy, president of Alcatel-Lucent Middle East, Africa, Turkey and Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the event, El-Leithy said, ?With our technical leadership and transformation expertise, we will be able to support Etisalat unleash its full business potential and deliver innovative solutions that push the boundaries of the telecoms industry to provide an unmatched mobile broadband experience.?
