Saudi Telecom has chosen TI Sparkle to provision IP transit connectivity for the Middle East

The Italian firm, which forms the international services branch of Telecom Italia Group, will provide Saudi Telecom with the use of two 100 Gigabits per second (Gbps) IP Ports, located at the company?s Sicily Hub in Palermo.

?We are delighted to be collaborating with TI Sparkle in introducing this state-of-art technology to respond to an ever-growing demand for more sophisticated and innovative IP services, which we are experiencing in our home market,? said Saudi Telecom?s vice president for wholesale Humoud Alkussayer.

The move will represent Saudi Telecom?s first multi-100 Gbps IP transit connectivity in the region, empowering what the company called ?the largest IP gateway in the Middle East?, as it aims to respond to a high demand for digital content.

?With the introduction of the 100 Gbps technology to the Middle East and Africa and the recent creation of a massive IP gravitational centre in the middle of the Mediterranean, through our Sicily Hub, TI Sparkle is a pioneer in providing top quality and advanced, cost-efficient connectivity solutions to customers in the region,? stated TI Sparkle CEO Alessandro Talotta.
