Raysut Cement to upgrade clinker cooler for savings

Raysut Cement Company, Oman?s largest cement manufacturer, is upgrading its clinker cooler technology to increase savings in its production

RCC has signed an agreement with Oman-based Ayoki Engineering to upgrade of the company?s clinker cooler line 3 at Salalah.  As an EPC contractor, Ayoki will source all the equipment for the clinker cooler upgrade from IKN GmbH, Germany, a statement from Raysut said.

?The upgrade of clinker cooler is in line with Raysut?s strategic plan to install the latest in production technology to reduce costs as well as to scale up its plants with state-of-the-art equipment,? said Joey Ghose, Group CEO of Oman-headquartered Raysut Cement Company.

Under the agreement with Ayoki, the existing grate cooler at its Salalah plant will be replaced by IKN Pendulum clinker cooler designed for 4,000 TPD with a guaranteed capacity of 3,500 TPD clinker production.

The project scope includes civil works, supply and installation works of mechanical and electrical works related to the clinker cooler upgrade. Sourcing and installation of the refractory will also be under the responsibility of EPC contractor through IKN.

Final installation of the project will be planned during Q4 2019 and is scheduled for 35 days flame off-flame on.
