Siemens wins Abu Dhabi grid project

Siemens AG signed a contract worth US$136mn to build a 400KV electrical grid station in Abu Dhabi.

The contract was signed with Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA) and Abu Dhabi Transmission and Despatch Co., (Transco).

The facility will be located in the Mahawi area of Abu Dhabi and will be the main source of power supply for development projects in Mussafah, Mohamed bin Zayed City, Mahawi, Watbha, Khalifa City, Old Airport and Capital District.

Back in March, Siemens won a contract to build the Shuweihat S3 power generation plant, also located in Abu Dhabi.
