Drake & Scull Construction has been awarded a construction contract worth US$349mm to develop a turnkey mix-use project in Algeria

Drake & Scull International (DSI) chief corporate affairs officer Zeina Tabari said that although details about the project have not been made public yet, more information will be released shortly.

The contract is expected to strengthen DSI?s position in the MENA region, where the company has been awarded two further projects in the last month.

DSI was awarded a US$68mn contract for engineering works at a government facility in Abu Dhabi followed by a US$113mn joint venture contract win with Habtoor Leighton Specon (HLS) in early September 2013 for maintenance, engineering and production works on the Abu Dhabi Louvre museum.

DSI established its first office in Abu Dhabi in 1966 and has since expanded operations to encompass offices in Dubai, Egypt, Kuwait, Libya, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Qatar, Jordan, India and Thailand, as well as managing projects in Europe and other parts of North Africa.
