Aluminium Bahrain likely to develop sixth production line

Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C (Alba) is likely to develop a sixth production line, with an expected capacity of 400,000 metric tonnes

According to officials at Alba, members of the Board as well as company shareholders are going to discuss the feasibility and technicalities surrounding expansion. Once the new unit is complete, Alba?s total production capacity will be 1.3mn tonnes per annum.

Alba chairman Shaikh Daij Bin Salman Bin Daij Al Khalifa said, ?We are optimistic about the future growth prospects from Alba?s sixth production line. This new landmark will make Alba one of the largest single site smelters in the world and will be a major boost to Bahrain?s economy. We also take the opportunity to thank Bahraini government for their support towards the Line 6 expansion project and their commitment to further develop the aluminium industry in Bahrain.?

Alba officials said that once they receive approvals, the company would expedite the execution of the production line.

The Bahraini company is one of the largest aluminium smelters in the world.
