UAE firm to build two crew boats for US firm

GrandweldUAE-based Grandweld Shipyards has been commission to design and build two 42M aluminum crew boats for Global Marine

The deal has followed the successful delivery of three 41M aluminum crew boats in 2011 to the US-based yacht brokerage firm.

The vessels are part of Grandweld’s 41M third generation crew boats, which have more been designed to be more efficient than previous generations, according to a statement by Grandweld.

Each boat have been designed to reach speeds in excess of 26 knots and will feature crew seating capacity of 83 persons, as well as a 104 sq m loading area for more than 90 tonnes of deck cargo. The vessels have been scheduled for delivery in August 2013.

Crew boats have become increasingly common in the Gulf region and the demand for advanced vessels has resulted in more orders from former and new clients.
